Happy New Year

Hello Everyone, This is a test to check if the RSS feeds are working. If you want, when you log onto this blog you can subscribe to it by hitting that funny little orange thing on internet explorer. If you have Outlook, then you will be updated when anything is placed on the blog. One other way to keep updated is to copy a link to your desk top and check in once in a while for any updates.

Everyone please have a safe new year. Please don't go out on the ice till we have at least 4 inches or so. There are still spots wide open.

Thanks
-Al

DRAWDOWN OVER for 2008!

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone who reads this that the gate has been put in the neutral position for the year. We had a great Drawdown going until the ice storm hit. That storm filled the lake back up in two days. This all but eliminated the usefulness of this years Drawdown success. We did however have some good frost Until this point, so maybe it wasn't a complete wash out.

I hope you also noticed the elimination of several large Lilly pad beds. Lycott treated the Lilly beds this fall and hopefully we will see a great result next summer.

ANNUAL DRAWDOWN

Hello Everyone, We wanted to let you know that we will begin the drawdown process starting on November 3, 2008. We will be lowering the lake three feet +/-and maintaining it throughout the winter. It should take about two-three weeks to get to our desired level. If you are planning on doing work or cleaning the shoreline this would be the best time of year to do so.
Thanks
Al

Lycott and Our Lake

Hello everyone,

By now you should have received a letter from Lycott Environmental regarding a meeting on June 11th. The meeting is about another DEP number we are trying to obtain for treatment of Lilly pads and other types of weeds for the purpose of control. We have also added a lot of items to this letter of intent for further projects. Our lake seems to be in great shape and we would like to continue with our efforts. We will be doing some testing and when we get the permits we will be doing some weed control. If and when you see the signs out, please help us and stay off the lake for that period of time posted. We don't want to spend the money than have it ruined by something silly.

I noticed an article about Buffumville lake and an Algae bloom that occurred, shutting down the lake. This is serious stuff and we need to be ready if this ever happens to us.

With that in mind, please make sure you send in your dues. We are spending some money now and need to keep the balances in a safe range, just in case we ever need to do a full chemical treatment ourselves.

Saving Sugden

Hello everyone, This is the pamphlet that I promised to you. Please follow this link to download or read this. Thanks To Ellen Sousa for putting this together for us. The link looks funny, but I couldn't figure out another way of getting this to you in the Blog.
